Greetings, salutations, or hello. An introduction, an opener, a pickup line, what ever you want to call it. it is the beginning of a conversation. Some of us are decent conversationalists making it easy to strike of a conversation with almost anyone not everyone.
So you swiped in the appropriate direction and you got a match or someone gave you a friends number to set you up and you want to strike up a conversation with someone. What do you say? How do you start a conversation with someone especially a stranger?
First of all, you are not alone. In this post and in future posts I am going to give some ideas that you can use to get that communication flowing.
This being our first post on introductions lets start with a proper one.
“Hello, my name is __”
Even if that person has your name on a matched profile include it. Why, you ask? Well its simple. It is polite and respectful. Does it sound better than “sup”? Of course it does. Oh look a properly used comma. Grammar and punctuation goes really far or are pet peeves with some people. Yes I know this posting just like many others are full of horrible grammar and punctuation but you are not coming here to date me you are coming here for entertainment and education.
If you give your greeting more effort then it may translate on the receiving end.
Have an interesting ice breaker? I’d love to hear about it.[contact-form-7 404 "Not Found"]
